Hello, my name is Steven Dickinson. In 1979, a friend gave me his magic kit. I was twelve years old when I got bit by the bug of performing magic tricks thanks to receiving this kit. There is nothing like seeing the wonder in a person's face as they try to figure out how you did a trick.

Hello, my name is Steven Dickinson. In 1979, a friend gave me his magic kit. I was twelve years old when I got bit by the bug of performing magic tricks thanks to receiving this kit. There is nothing like seeing the wonder in a person's face as they try to figure out how you did a trick.
In 1981 I came across an old trunk full of magic at a rummage sale. It was the last day of the sale and the nice folks gave me the trunk for free.
A short while after receiving the trunk I put together my first magic show and performed it for the neighborhood kids.
They loved it. I received photographs of my first show and in one of the pictures was a boy holding his hand to his mouth in awe. That picture of the boy gave me the final shot in the arm to want to perform magic shows on a regular basis.
Reading is Magic!
I want to help children of all ages experience this magic by encouraging them to read. The same wonder they get when seeing a magic trick can be experienced when they open up a book and explore their world.
From then on I was hooked. I would visit my local library often and check out books on magic, history, biographies and so much more.
